The North Somerset Railway: 2021 route is a “what if?” take on DTG’s original NSR. This version of the route operates as a preserved railway featuring many of the things we love about heritage railways; semaphore signals, passing loops and rolling stock depots. In this iteration of the route, British Railways had shut the Frome to Whatley Quarry branch in the 1990s, switching to road transportation. With the already shut Frome to Radstock and Bristol railway, a preservation group took the chance to open a preserved railway on the existing track bed. This route is how this preserved railway would look in the present day, 2021.
